About Us

Ocean Beach Presbyterian Church is a young, old, and growing congregation that has been serving the people and communities of Washington State’s Long Beach Peninsula for over 123 years.

Located in the historic resort community of Seaview (adjacent to the city of Long Beach), church members, friends, and visitors gather for worship at 11:00 a.m. each Sunday morning throughout the year.  A Sunday Adult Small Group Class meets at 9:30 a.m. year-round and the Children’s Sunday School meets at 10:30 a.m. (except during the summer months).  We love children!

OBPC traces its roots back to the Ilwaco Presbyterian Church (founded in 1893) and the Long Beach Presbyterian Church (also founded in 1893).  These two congregations sold their properties and merged into OBPC in 1973.  In a unique cooperative ecumenical arrangement, OBPC owns half the property and half the facilities of the Peninsula Church Center sharing the other half with St. Peter’s Episcopal Church (which owns the sanctuary/chapel building).

We are proud of our Presbyterian heritage and enjoy the status of being the most remote of the 44 congregations that make up the Presbytery of Olympia.  You can read a detailed history by clicking HERE.

In addition Ocean Beach Pres has a Facebook page, found in Facebook under “Ocean Beach Presbyterian Church.”

Our Pastor:  Our most recent pastor, James A. Tweedie, retired on July 31, 2o16. We are now enjoying the excitement of seeking new leadership  as we transition into the next season of our congregation’s ministry and mission.
